Mike for Swansea West

Mike O’Carroll is a local resident and long-term local campaigner who will contest the Swansea West constituency for the Welsh Liberal Demcorats at the next election. He is a former business owner and former Army reservist who currently lives in the Sandfields, having moved to Swansea 10 years ago.

Mike’s political priorities are fixing our NHS, tackling the cost of living crisis, and delivering a fair deal on tax and benefits. He believes that the UK and Welsh governments should be making long-term investment in the jobs of the future, such as in green energy and environmental management, and improving both the quantity and quality of apprenticeships to ensure a skilled and well-paid workforce, supporting the local economy.

Its Lib Dems or Labour in Swansea West

Boundary changes have created a new seat here which is a two horse race between the Lib Dems and Labour’s parachuted-in candidate from London.

The Conservatives, Plaid Cymru, and the Greens have no Councillors in the new seat. This means that the only person who can beat Labour in Swansea West is Welsh Lib Dem Mike O’Carroll.

Remember if they cannot elect a Councillor they won’t be able to elect a Member of Parliament

Taken for Granted by Welsh Labour

Welsh Labour take Swansea for granted, they have parachuted in a candidate with no connection to Swansea from London and have a First Minister caught-up in a donor scandal.

They continue to spend your money on vanity projects whilst the big issues in Swansea go unfixed. They have slashed business rate support, trashing the local economy. It’s clear - Welsh Labour aren’t listening to people here.

  • Failing to get the basics right, wasting your money on vanity projects.
  • A Welsh Labour First Minister caught up in a donation scandal.
  • Keir Starmer’s mates with no local connection parachuted  in from London.

“I’ve known Mike for many years now and I can’t think of anyone better to stand up for our local communities - he really gets it.”

Peter Black, Manselton

“Mike is non-stop in his campaigning for our area. When the Council wanted to sell off part of Singleton Park for housing, Mike gave us loads of support.”

Mike Day, Sketty

“Mike is a great candidate for change in Swansea. He’s local, hard-working, level-headed and not afraid to speak his mind. For too long Wales and Swansea have been dominated by the Labour party and they have let us down. It’s time for a new approach, and having worked with Mike for many years, I think he is just the man for the job.”

Chris Holley, Leader of the Opposition
