Local Councillor for Waterfront, Sam Bennett is the Welsh Lib Dem Lead Candidate for Gŵyr Abertawe.

Meet Sam Bennett

Lead candidate Cllr Sam Bennett has represented the Waterfront ward on Swansea Council since 2022. With a background in marketing at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Swansea University, Sam is passionate about education and widening participation. He has also been active in the campaign for justice over the cladding scandal affecting flats and high-rise blocks.

Sam's Priorities for Gŵyr Abertawe include:

  • Extending Free Childcare
  • Cleaning up our Rivers and Seas
  • Fighting for Economic investment in Swansea including rail electrification to Swansea and building the tidal lagoon
  • Ending the Cladding Scandal
