Become a Councillor

Be a Community Champion

Why not become the champion your community needs? We are the official opposition in Swansea to Labour, so if you are looking for a party with community at the heart, and will always push for a free, fair and open society then why not join us and campaign to get the basics right for your community and Swansea.

Hi, I am Sam

I am the Welsh Liberal Democrat Councillor for Waterfront, and the Chair of the Welsh Liberal Democrat group on Swansea Council.

As the official opposition on Swansea Council, our Councillors across Swansea, work hard every day to make life better for the people in our communities. We also have a fantastically hardworking team of Councillors in Neath Port Talbot.

We are always looking for people who want to help us fight for a better future for the people of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. If you agree with our values, why not get involved and maybe run for Council?

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please get in touch with me, and I or someone from one of our two Council teams will be happy to talk to you about it further. Below, I have left some more useful information about our values, and what it is like being a Liberal Democrat councillor.

Best wishes

Cllr Sam Bennett
